How do I book The Emerald Fox Artists?
congratulations on your wedding beautiful , and thank you for considering The Emerald Fox Artists for your special day!
First you will want to contact us through our contact page, once we have received your information we will be contacting you with our bridal questionnaire. Please fill out our questionnaire with as much information as possible as we use this information when creating your contract. A wedding day is not considered booked until a 50% deposit of your total service balance has been received and a contract has been signed. Your 50% deposit will be deducted from your final balance, bride and bridal parties balances are due 45 days before the wedding date.
Email is our primary mode of communication. We service many clients a year, and in order to serve you best, it is important that we have record of all correspondence with each client. Although email is our preferred method of communication, you are always welcome to call or text our salon line with any important questions you might have.
Are you able to accommodate large bridal parties?
Yes! We have a team of artists to accommodate large bridal parties. For bookings of 8+, additional artists may come depending on time allotted for beauty services. For larger bridal parties where 4 or more artists are needed, there will be additional artist fees and travel fees.
Do you have a minimum booking policy?
Yes.
All year - for on-location wedding services (either in Lake County or up to 1 hour from our location) there is a minimum booking of 4 people for each service. For on-location services 1.5 hours or more away, there is a minimum of 6 people for each service.
Weddings in off season(July-August/December-February) with only 1 to 2 people needing services, are completed at The Emerald Fox. You can also opt to pay a $100.00 travel fee per artist in Lake County in off season for on location services that have less than 4 people needing services.
How long will it take to get everyone ready on the wedding day?
The Bride is allotted approximately 2 1/2 hrs. total for makeup and hair services. Please allow 1 hrs. for each service for bridesmaids, mothers, and other attendants.
Why does it cost more for the brides at The Emerald Fox or on location?
We pride ourselves in our talent and expertise in the beauty field of bridal hair and makeup. You are ultimately paying for a luxury to be serviced at The Emerald Fox or on location, if we are coming to you on location, we are traveling to you, carrying heavy equipment, along with our skill set and the time we do spend with you to look your best so you can relax on your wedding day. This also includes the time it takes for communicating from inquiry to event date and time creating invoices, contracts, and schedules, etc.
Should I book a beauty preview?
Yes, beauty previews are not required but are highly recommended. We recommend booking your beauty preview about 1-3 months prior to the wedding date and once you have all of your hair accessories, jewelry, and wedding ideas gathered, so we can create a look that really matches your vision. We’ve found that when brides book a beauty preview to early, many end up booking a second preview closer to the wedding once they have a better idea of exactly what there looking for.
We typically book our wedding previews tues.-Fri., at the emerald fox as we are closed on Mondays and our weekends are usually booked for weddings and events, however if we have availability we will do our best to accommodate our local and out of town brides.
SHOULD I BOOK MY PREVIEW FOR MY ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS OR BRIDAL SHOWER?
We do not suggest doing your wedding hair and makeup preview on the day of your engagement photo shoot. The preview is to try out the full wedding look, so that on the day of your wedding, everything runs smoothly and you know what to expect. It is a time to discuss what you like and do not like, for us as artists to make suggestions based on your hair and skin type and test out your desired looks. Engagement photo hair and makeup tends to be more relaxed, and you won’t want to reveal that special look ahead of time, we doubt you will want the same look for both sets of photos.
We do recommend doing your trial on a day where you have somewhere to go like a dress fitting or a night out with the girls!
How should I arrive at my bridal preview and what should I bring?
It is best for you to come to your bridal preview with cleaned blow dried hair no flat ironing. If you have curly hair and wish to have your natural texture showcased in your style come with clean air-dried or diffused hair. Bringing inspiration photos is always recommended typically three for hair, one showing the sides, one for the back , and one for the front as well, for makeup bring however many photos you choose to give the artist an idea of what your looking for. If your desired hair look requires extensions you will want to have them by this appointment. We also suggest wearing white or whatever color you will be wearing for your wedding, it will help to give you a visual, a long with your veil and any hair accessories, these will really give you an overall feel for your wedding day look.
Where can I get extensions if my wedding hair look requires them?
If you are wanting to invest in hair extensions to keep after your wedding day we recommend buying a set through https:www.bellamiprofessional.com/ Hair must be 100% human hair in order for us to work with it, we suggest a 9 pack for volume in your desired length, it is always better to have more than not enough. If you are only interested in having extensions for the wedding day we do offer extension rentals for an additional fee , just inquire with us at the time of booking for pricing.
What is the difference between traditional makeup and airbrush makeup?
Traditional makeup is the use of liquid, cream or powder foundation, applied with a makeup sponge or brush. Liquid and cream foundations offer a range of coverage, from sheer to full. The traditional foundation formula chosen will decide things like the finish, whether the look is matte, dewy, or satin and longevity and durability. We use quality water resistant foundations that will last all day.
Airbrush makeup is a process where foundation is put into an airbrush gun that sprays a fine mist of foundation onto the skin, these tiny droplets of foundation allow for a lightweight even application. We use Temptu and Graftobian professional makeup, this is a satin formula that delivers a natural, skin like finish, it is transfer and water resistant along with allowing for buildable coverage from sheer to medium. It has excellent staying power and can withstand heat, humidity, and tears.
We normally like to decide if you are a good candidate for airbrush makeup in person, not all skin types work well with certain formulas. It is important for us to give you the best coverage for your desired look and the longevity that works well with your skin type.
Do you charge a fee for early start times and holidays?
yes, if a start time before 8:00 a.m. is required we charge an additional $100.00 early start convenience fee. All bookings taking place on a holiday are subject to a $150.00 holiday fee, these will be included in your bridal hair and makeup contact if necessary.
My venue doesn’t open to get ready until the late morning or afternoon, will this affect our getting ready time?
If your contracted services need to begin earlier than your venue allows entry for, you will need to secure an alternate location prior to your arrival and travel to the venue. If you wish to have our team pack up our kits and transfer with you from one starting location to your venue, and set up again to continue services, then an additional 50.00 transfer fee per artist and any applicable travel fees will apply for each booked artist.
